BRIEF BIO Ted McKee aka Teddy Midnite, heads up 10 different musical acts of various genres including Sneakers, Swing Soup, Teddy Midnite, McKee & Stone, Wing Walker Jazz Trio, Blue Sky Band and Boss Hawg. In addition to playing live gigs 6 to 7 nights a week (sometimes 2 or 3 in one day), he finds time to write songs, arrange music, record in his own studio and keep a slight hand in the financial planning business that allowed him to ditch the coat and tie. McKee, born in Atlanta to an Army Officer grew up traveling the world. He comes from a long line of musicians and started at 15 playing guitar with his brother in a rock band in Ft, Smith, Arkansas. Teddy has been living in the Lowcountry since the late 70's and raised his family here. He played on the road with John Brannen, Jack Williams, and other well known musicians. Ted's niece, Bonnie McKee is on the pop charts in her own right with the hit album, "Trouble". Ted's latest CD, "Teddy Midnite" is hitting peak sales in international markets. His song "If You Ever Wanted Someone" has been touted by fans as "the best love song ever written". Whether he's on guitar, piano, solo or with the band, there is no question, Ted McKee is Charleston's premier entertainer.
